Hi There,
I'm way on the other side of town, but wanted to let you know about an email group we formed through this forum. We have people from all over the valley, and get together weekly for playgroups, preschool co-op and other activities. The link to join the group is in my sig line. Hope you join us!

Hi there!
I live in Chandler, AZ. It IS hot, but it's beginning to cool down (you'll love the winter here
). I've lived in AZ for six years and am pretty familiar with the area. I live in southeast Chandler and from my house it takes about 35 to 45 minutes to drive to Central Phoenix. The actual freeway time is probably only 20 minutes -- it's the surface streets which eat up the rest of the time. My OB was in Central Phx and I would have to leave my house an hour before my appt in order to be there in time.

I used to live in Central Phx and just moved to Chandler this past April. I just had a baby (Jack
) on July 13th. I'm finally settling in with the new house and the new baby and am ready to spread my wings. Since I stay at home, we now only have one car
. So, I don't get out much. It seems as if everyone in my neighborhood works...I was thinking of hanging flyers advertising for "friends wanted" on the neighborhood mailboxes. It seems pathetic, but I need a girlfriend! I would love to have someone to walk with - I lost 40 lbs right before I became preg. I've now lost all the baby weight but still have more lbs to lose. If you'd like to talk further / have any other questions please email me! Sometimes it takes me a day to answer since I usually only get to check email when the baby is sleeping.

I guess Ikea won't be opening until fall of 2004 or something. Apparently we're not moving to Gilbert after all - that's just where dh will be working. We're gonna be in Mesa too. Looking forward to meeting some of you mamas

Moonqueen- I LOVE your name, BTW...

When are you moving here? I live in Apache Junction, and Morgan (Max's Mami, above
) lives in Mesa, so we won't be far away! And you'll meet lots of people if you join the AZMamas yahoo group. I don't post much, just read about goings-on. Let us know when you get here so we can hang out!
