Hi ladies! I'm originally from Maryland, but have been living with my husband in Alaska for the last year. He is a Staff Sergeant in the Army and we've been stationed up here. We have a six month old boy named Maddox. We are moving back to Maryland (Hagerstown Area) in less than 3 weeks. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a midwife (for well woman care) and a pediatrician that is supportive of breastfeeding, co-sleeping, non-vaxing, non-circing parents. I've heard horror stories about military doctors (so far we've managed to avoid them) and would rather see civilian care providers. Thanks in advance.

I think the group is called Women's health center they have several Drs but also about 4 or 5 midwives. My friend sees one for routine care ( she also delivered for her) I think her name was Vera but dont hold me to that. I "think" this is the link ( it only lists the Drs of course http://www.washingtoncountyhospital....sp?Practice=57 ) I see Comprehensive womens care because I am high risk enough I need a DR. they do have 1 midwife also but I had a bad expierence with her and dont feel comfortable recommending her. The OBs there are wonderful

The only ped I know for sure that is ok with completely NON vaxing is Dr Kahn. He pretty much leaves most of my friends alone on the vax thing He does offer / recommends but doesnt give any of them a hard time. He figures its the parents call. http://www.washingtoncountyhospital....r.asp?NAME=377
Several of my organic co op friends that are non vaxers ( ok ALL of my co op friends) see him
Oh if you are interested in joining a monthly organic/natual co op once you get here let me know I will send you the link to our little group

Do you know what area of hagerstown you are moving to?
