It looks like we'll be putting our house up for sale soon and with the hot market here we should be moving to Nova Scotia before summer is up!<br><br>
I'm excited and scared all at the same time. We will be moving from Northwestern Ontario, so a zone 3 climate to NS's zone 5! We are looking at getting some acreage (4+) in the Annapolis Valley.<br><br>
We are crunchy farmer wannabes. We are secular homeschoolers and are expecting baby #3 in August.<br><br>
Midwives aren't covered by provincial insurance are they? I'm a little freaked out by moving late in my pregnancy. I had a successful vbac last time and am concerned about having to go with a doctor in the hospital.<br><br>
Anyone on mothering from the same area?

Midwives ARE covered in NS but finding on that is practicing and covered can be tricky. There are 5 covered in NS presently. Two on the South Shore (we just gave birth with them....moved to the area for a month from Cape Breton...they might be able to help you), one in Antigonish but she only works in the hospital and only when it is her shift so you can't be guaranteed her, and a couple in Halifax but they are currently (to my knowledge) only see clients living in Halifax. There are likely "underground" midwives around but they aren't covered and I know a few have disappeared since the new legislation passed.<br><br>

Anyone know what the weather (growing season) is like around Amherst? We can't find anything in the valley and there is a decent property about 25 kms east of Amherst on the coast.
