We finally know that dh will be going to school in Ottawa so we'll be moving in a couple of weeks. I also just found out that I'm pregnant, so I'll be busy trying to find a midwife. Does anyone know of any good midwives? I heard that it's a bit difficult finding one in Ottawa, so I'm a bit worried. Here, it's really easy to get midwifrey care.
I'd also like to meet other like-minded mammas since I will have no friends/support. I'll introduce myself in the Ottawa thread soon!

I got in with the Ottawa Valley Midwives in Carleton Place. I live in Kanata and it's about a 1/2 hour drive (45 minutes when I take into account getting my toddler in and out of the car!). I love it there. They are sooo nice and they have hospital priviledges at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, which is the closest hospital to us.

I didn't even check out the other midwifery practices in Ottawa and I cancelled my OB appointment before I met her because I am so happy with who I have.

the midwiferty group of Ottawa, we had Chantal and Jose, we had an excellent experience with them, it was just awesome care. You definitely want to get your name on waiting lists ASAP, here's a list (and contact information) for all the Ottawa-area midwifery practices:
