Moving to SW Michigan - Kalamazoo Mamas?

Hey mamas! My family moved out to CA from MI for 6 months on buisness and we're moving back in about 2 months. After new baby arrives. We were living near Jackson but are looking to move near or in Kalamazoo. It's been kinda frustrating thinking about finding a place to live considering we're all the way on the west coast. I'm not gonna really look until May because we need a place starting in June so it's totally pointless to look now. My question, anyone know of any good websites (or A website) for finding a house for rent in Kalamazoo? I've searched just about everything I can think of an mlive.com is the best I've found...I just wish I had pics to look at first. Anways, any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! Also, I look forward to any play groups or anything going on in the K-zoo area. Is there one? I have a 2.5 yr old dd (she turns 3 in July) and will have a newborn. I also look forward to joining the co-op in K-zoo.
Anyone here a member? Anways, TIA mamas!!

I think it would be easier to rent an apt around here rather than a house, but I really don't know. You could try this:
http://www.kalamazoorent.com/
Have just seen ads for it, haven't used it myself.

I'm not a member of the coop but I think others around here are. You could also get in touch with the Natural Families Group:
http://www.naturalfamiliesofkalamazoo.org/
They have play groups and I bet if you got on the Yahoo group someone might have some leads for you on rentals.

Good luck!
For the Natural Families Group link! Looks like it's just what I'm looking for!

I am a member of the NFofKalamazoo group. Great group of women (and one man)
I'm sure that you can get the resources/information you need from us.

One point about waiting to find a rental until May. Kzoo is a college town and most of the nice (and affordable) places get gobbled up pretty quickly by students. You may want to give yourself some time to find a place. On the flip side, we are in a pretty soft rental market (meaning we have a glut of housing stock), so you may not have much of a problem finding a place. I guess it all depends on what you are looking for and how much you are able to pay. If you join the Yahoo! group, I/we can give you some more detailed information about good neighborhoods/areas to look in.

Good luck!

There's a good site to find housing in the area! I live in a tiny apartment complex off of West Main street that is in a lovely neighborhood. We see people with small child around quite frequently and are really close to a natural health food store on West Main Street.

Western does seem to have the most comprehensive rental listing, and I have used it before with clients. However, I ran a list using the link above (apartment, 4 bedrooms, any price, any neighborhood) and saw a lot of property management companies I would NEVER rent from, because they are not user friendly...the properties are good enough to pass campus and city inspection, but they treat people like crap...IMO. SO, I guess I woild suggest being careful, do on-site interviews and be picky.
