Hi Sarasota AP moms,

We're relocating from Pennsylvania to Florida to be closer to family. We'll be looking to buy a house in the Sarasota area in the next few months. Any recommendations on younger neighborhoods, good schools, or other ideas would be a great help! TIA and I look forward to meeting you when we are there (probably around September).

I moved here from PA too,what part are you from?I moved here from York.I don't know much about the Sarasota area,but there are a few Florida mother boards with people from the areas if you want me to pm you the links.

Yes, thanks, that would be great. We're living in King of Prussia right now (near the big mall). How do you like it in FL compared to up here?

I like living in Florida,it's totally different then living in PA,it takes awhile to adjust to the differences,but I love the tropical environment and no snow.But then the hurricane season which is going on now is scary,so you sit and wait for that,but the winter here is really nice and there is alot to do here for the kids.I haven't been to the beach yet,but hear they are really nice too.We have been to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa and that is one of the coolest places,lot of interaction with the animals.I live in a small town here,like I lived in PA.My sister lives over in Easton PA not far from King of Prussia,we used to pass through there.I still have a few friends in Lancaster.I do miss the scenery in Lancaster though,it was pretty to look at the green and farms and stuff.But they have farms here too,with longhorns and egrets.I never realized that Florida had alot of open country type land.Where I live here,it's mostly a farming town with alot of strawberries and orange groves.I had a little homesickness missing family when we first got here,but now I can't imagine living any place else,and hope we can get a house in the next few years.I will pm you the links for the message boards.
