....I think that's what it's called....does anyone know anything about it? It's some sort of herb mixture or something that you burn on certain parts of your body (the labor points) (not burn as in burn your skin....)
Any reputable accupunturist could help with your. The official herb is mugwort, but it is administered a special way that accpuncturist are trained to do this since it involves an acucpuncture point.
I have quite a few acquaintances who've utilized mb for turning breech babies, most with great success.
I'd be more hesitant to consider it for induction purposes as I strongly believe that every baby deserves to pick her/his own birthday. But, if the choices were accupuncture or pitocin, you can bet your last dollar which I'd choose!
Moxibustion can be used for turning breech babies. Labor induction is done with acupuncture or acupressure, I've never heard of anyone using moxibustion for it. For acupuncture you would need an acupuncturist. You could try acupressure yourself, you just need someone to help you find the points accurately.
Labor induction with acupuncture is very effective but it won't work if the baby isn't ready to come. Acupuncture can also help to ripen the cervix. Some women visit their acupuncturists for several weeks before their due date for 'labor prep'. A series of treatments to help ripen the cervix and move things downward.
I hope that's helpful,
Rebecca
