Mine is starting to dislodge. No bloody show, just a long thick snotty mess. I didn't lose my plug last time until I was already in labor, and what I saw this morning reminded me of that, minus the bloody tinge.

In the last 4 days I've been having a lot of BH and feeling more pressure on my cervix. Combined with the snotty mess, I'm sure my cervix has been changing a lot. I have an appointment with the midwife tomorrow, and once I tell her about the mucous plug, I'm afraid that she'll want to do an exam and accidently start regular contractions.

I know that losing a mucous plug doesn't necessarily mean that labor will soon follow, but I'm freaking out because I know it's coming, soon. I'm not ready to have this baby until after 8/19, when all our available family is back in town (somebody has to watch DS).

I'm trying to stay hydrated and off my feet as much as possible, as well as abstaining from sex. What else can I do?

With bloody show, I would estimate in the next 72hours, without bloody show, you can lose great globs of mucous for a month.

Just say no to the exam and don't fret about the rest. If you don't take of your panties, you can't get an exam

LOL at the pp.

I lost my mucus plug (but no bloody show) a while back, then a few days ago it regenerated (I can't feel the sack/head through the cervix, so I know it's there now). So I'd say not necessarily soon either. My cervix has been changing for a while now also, like since 6 months, and no baby yet

I've been having some mucus lately too. I actually called my midwife becuase I was concerned it might mean an infection because it was yellow & green mucus. But since I don't have anyother signs of infection were are (for now atleast) assuming it is just normal changeing of discharge that happens as we get closer to term.

Are you really haveing alot? Large globs more than once a day?

I had bloody show with my son and the pregnancy continued for nearly two weeks. We're all so different, aren't we?

For the last two weeks I've notice a lot of egg-white like gobs when I wipe, but the one from this morning was semi-opaque, thick and about 1 1/2" long... it looked like a gross snotty mess you would find plugging the pipe in your sink. (ew, I can't believe I described it like that, sorry.)

I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm just a nervous wreck because the house is still a disaster and I want him to be strong and healthy so he can come home with me.

Well I hope your midwife can tell you something to make you feel better. It is so hard not to worry about everything at this point. My fear right now too is that he will come too early. TRY to think good postive thoughts & please let us know what your mw says. I'll be sending you 'stay away labor vibes' for now too

I thought that was just an increase in discharge! I've had gobs of egg ****** (but it's not clear, it's cloudy), thick stuff coming out. Mostly when I am up on my feet or lifting things I'm not supposed to be lifting.

So I guess I don't really know if it's dishcarge or my mucous plug.

It sounds like everyone else knows what they're talking about. I wouldn't be too worried. Good luck

With my first I lost my plug at around 32 weeks. It regenerated. didn't lose it again until the night I went into labour, NEVER had bloody show. I went to 41 weeks.

With my second I lost great, HUGE, snotty globs w/ some show every single day for weeks upon weeks upon weeks (5-6 at least) and *then* went into labour with him. I dilated to 5cm before I ever got my first cramp!

Great gobbs...lolo, I love it!! I too have joined the land of the creamy discharge. Some days I think, what the heck??!! But with my last I lost my "plug"(no blood) at 36 wks and went 8 days past EDD. When ever I've actually lost a plug before labor it has been blood tinged and gelatinous (sp?) not just thick and mucusy....very different from the copious creamy inch long stuff that starts with me about 32wks and keeps going......consider it natures lubrication for a wonderful vaginal delivery!!

Gelatinous is EXACTLY it! It's like huge globs of not-quite-set Jello!! Except snottier.

Oh, it really is. But as a first time mama, I consider it preparation for all the conversations I'm about to have about baby poop!

I lost some clotty snotty cream-colored stuff in the shower last Monday, but I have no idea if it was mucus plug or what. I'm not having any contractions yet, so I'm not too worried. I just assume it's part of the body's process.
