I have never seen my mucus plug... I am hoping to this time. I feel like I am missing out on something. I look, look and look but never see anything. So I have no clue when mine comes out, maybe it does at birth... heck I don't know. I have read that is can regenerate itself though, maybe all these mucus chunks that I lose is parts of the plug that continuously regenerates?
nope, but my usual MO is I don't see it all all, or I lose little bits here and there for months. I have been in labor and not even seen the thing.
I have had serious mucousy bits expelling daily now for the past couple of weeks. I don't know if it is part of the plug or just generated externally by the cervix.

With my second, I lost the plug in a huge (think ping pong ball) glop of blood-tinged goop. Labor started about 8 hours later. It seems that when you really "lose it," is when your cervix is dialating and the stretching causes a little bleeding.
I never noticed it really in my other pregnancies.. looking back I probably lost it in the 35thish week with my son.

Never really noticed it for the others.

With this pregnancy I lost it at 28 weeks. I don't really think it indicates anything lol
I too have heard you loose it in chunks and it regenerates throughout the pregnancy. I did loose it for good while in labor with both of my girls a huge snotty blood tinged glob of disgustingness. For those who haven't seen it you aren't missing much

Right, it's not like the eclipse or something.

I too have never really seen it.... globs here and there but nothing Announcing Labour.
UGH! I looked and looked and LOOKED last pregnancy after every wipe...nothing, I never ever saw it. I was so disappointed! This time I am looking after every time again hoping for a glimpse! I know last time I lost it around or before 36wks because during an internal exam she said it was gone and any I recieved after that it was gone as well...
I want to see it so bad. lol I know its silly but hey its one of those things that only happens so often.
All of mine I lost right before or at the beginning of labor. Most of the time I noticed it in the toilet, not necessarily when wiping.
Have you called your doctor or MW to make sure this is ok? I don;t know much about it & curious to hear if it's normal to lose it this far ahead.
I have cervical mucus that literally plops in the toilet on occasion but when I lost my plug it looked more cartilaginous an had the tell tale bloody streaks and labor came within 24-48 hours after...wow, did I just use my outside voice
I've never heard of loosing it this early in the game either...but what do I know

I had the textbook "bloody show" with my last pregnancy. It was literally like a thick plug with streaks of blood. I found it in my underwear when going to the bathroom. Ds was born less than 24 hours later.
I started losing mine in bits and pieces at 35 weeks with DS#1 (who was born at 37 weeks), but the whole thing didn't come out until right before he was born. I didn't see it but my mom said it came out on my OB's hand during a cervical check at the hospital and he wiped it on the foot of the bed. Lol. The OB didn't arrive until 5 min before DS was born, so it was literally just before birth. Probably woulda come out on his head if not for that check!

This time I have been seeing tiny pieces since before I had a positive pregnancy test. I was really concerned that it meant my cervix wasn't completely closed, but my midwife says it's normal. I'm 31w3d today and I see pieces on the tissue at least once a day, everything is still fine.
