No mention of the fact that having the disease once is all that is required for lifelong immunity.

No mention of the medical literature that states that mumps in a little girl imparts some protection against ovarian cancer.

No mention of the fact that mumps is inconsequential in a little boy, but can cause orchitis in a grown man or oophoritis in a grown woman, or arthritis, meningitis, or mastitis all of which are rare.

I had it at age 10. I was miserable. I tried to get my own children exposed, but it is not out there. Now that they are adults, I hope they do NOT get it.

How is the Mumps fraud not more widely known?

It's like when you fasten your seatbelt in the plane and basically just trust the pilot and everyone else can be trusted to take you to your destination safely, nothing you can really do at that point. People seem to transfer that line of thinking to EVERY aspect in life. WAKE UP!!!

If no one talks about it, then is it real?

For years, no one told parents about vaccine exemptions, yet there they were, right in the law.

If a tree falls and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

my biggest fear is one of the diseases comes to our school and my kids have to be sent home for weeks which is district policy here. Shouldn't it be the parents decision to send the kids to school and if they get it then they stay home? I often envision myself homeschooling after that point but I gather it would be quite traumatic on my kids and then they would be known in the entire school as the unvaxxed kids. Pure bs. Or the other option is to the get them the stupid mmr which is one vaccine I am very against because of the aborted fetal cells. I had it as a kid and yeah I was fine, but I also didn't have a say so in whether I got it or not.

My father had it and thought he's couldn't have children as a result. And then he married my mom. And yes, what applejuice said about vaccine exemptions. For years so many people bought that line about how you had to have vaccines for school. No word about exemptions. Makes it convenient to keep people uncomfortable making decisions outside the norm.

Orchitis as a complication of mumps in a grown man is rare, and even then, it will involve only one testicle. A man can repopulate the earth with the other - Dr Robert S Mendelsohn, MD .

Never and under vaxed children who are not sick are sent home and told that if they want to return to school, they have to get the mumps vaccine.

Never mind that all of the mumps cases are in fully vaccinated children.

Never mind that the company that makes the vax is in court for fraud connected to the vaccine.

I feel so BLESSED that my life turned in such a way that I wasn't reliant on the public school system.

Gee, go to school AND get sick or stay home and be well.

I know it's an imposition on the families, many of whom can't miss work to take care of kids home from school. On the other hand, they can't take off work to watch sick kids, either.

But I keep hearing my 10 year old self in my ear, trying to figure out why, if people are getting sick at school, we are still going. And I say, "Got me, honey. It's a crazy system."
