I exercise 5 days a week from between 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hours depending on what my girls will allow. I do Ultimate Taebo 1 1/2 hours once a week. The rest of the week is kickboxing, a little bellydance, dancing w/ baby-preschooler, hiking w/ DD2 in mei-tai at a nice speed. I also do some interval training, a little free weights, yoga, and have started the 100 push up Program. The last 3 days I've taken off of exercising because for 2 we were at a festival and today we're just wore out. All 3 days I've gotten some form of muscle spasm or Charlie horse. One at night in my leg, which took forever to go away and left me sore. Then, the rest were in my arms and chest as I reach for things, or even something as simple as scratching an itch on my neck. I've always heard that those mean you are missing potassium or something like that, but I also thought it could mean I'm overdoing it... maybe. I don't feel like I am though, I'm enjoying my routine thoroughly. Would it be too much rest??? Does anyone else have these?

For me, they're nutrition related.

While you're working on the cause, one thing that really helps is to flex your foot as soon as you feel the cramp starting. It hurts about as much as the cramp, but won't last as long and won't leave you with that lingering memory of pain.

I eat plenty of salt and all I drink other than a cup of coffee in the morning is water. So, I would think I'm hydrated enough. I almost had one during my big workout today in my chest. Still wondering.

I suffer from similar spasms after doing sports. It didn't matter if I id some jogging or workout with exercices and weights. After the training I got muscle spasms in my calves and my forearms. I contacted my physician and I had to order Flexeril online to fight the spasms. It got a little bit better with the medication and I changed my training plan and now I get spasms only once a week or so.
