I'm curious, too. Just yesterday, DH and I were wondering if DD would be able to have the traditional mushroom soup that we have on Christmas Eve. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/confused.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Confused">:

Mushroom soup would be fine. Generally the problem with mushrooms is their texture. Without teeth, they are extremely difficult to break up small enough in the baby's mouth. If the mushroom is cooked and cut into very tiny bites it should be fine. Don't expect instant approval though. Much of the pleasure in eating mushrooms is biting into them as the flavor unfolds in your mouth. That satisfaction won't emerge until all the teeth are present (mainly the molars for grinding.)
