Hi there,

I need ideas, mamas! My 2.5 year old DD2 just had her tonsils out and is on a "soft foods" diet for the next week and a half. She's already sick of ice cream and yogurt. She turned her nose up at my butternut squash soup and tapioca custard. The only requirements are that the food be soft and have no acidic qualities (i.e., no tomatoes and no citrus). I learned the hard way that strawberry smoothies are a big no-no...poor baby trying to swallow those seeds.

She's eaten a few bowls of noodles or mac-n-cheese, but the narcotics she was on the first few days after surgery made her so constipated that I thought she was going to end up in the hospital last night with an impaction (we avoided it just barely). Ouch! So I'd like to try to get some other foods other than starch in her.

Any ideas? We'd like it to be vegetarian, but vegan isn't necessary (just a bonus).

Thanks in advance!!!,
I remember having mine out when I was 15...I ate 1/2 a box of popsicles every day.
Along with applesauce, soft tofu, potato-based soup, and later in the week well-cooked rice.

Can you believe this child will not eat popsicles?!?! In the hospital the first day, she ate three. At home, with the same popsicles, she won't eat any. And sadly, she's always hated applesauce.

I'll try some potato soup...that sounds good. Thanks!
