Make sure your caretaker knows about this. Reduce gassiness, spitting up, and over-feeding (extra important for pumping mamas!). As well as keeping your baby from being basically choked with milk.
The local IBCLCs mentioned that they haven't seen any nipple confusion since they started teaching this way of using bottles. They also say don't bother using anything but the newborn nipples.
This also does away with a need for special bottles to keep air out and such.
