My 9 month old second cousin has measles He just got over pnemionia (sp?) poor baby! I am assuming he got it from daycare, I guess a child that was vaxed, shed it too him... As far as I know he is doing okay for now, he is hospitalized and running a very high fever. I told my mom it would probably be better for him to be at home getting treated homepathically b/c the meds are more harmful then the disease. :

Please send your thoughts that he will get better soon!

I agree, he would be much better off at home without the fever reducers and what not they will give him.

Measles is not dangerous in an otherwise healthy child but this child just got over pneumonia and probably was on abx, so he is weakened and sickly still.

Poor baby. I hope he does alright. Keep us posted.

Not sure about shedding vaccine - sounds like the real thing to me. Which is lucky, but, unfortunately, a bit early and not in the best time after another illness. You're right about treatment, I hope he is better soon and out of hospital.

I also hope the parents wouldn't give him MMR when he is 12 months!
