Well, I knew it would happen. I have a very precocious dd that has been talking quite a bit lately about human physiology and growing up. (She told me last week that one day she will be a woman and have pubic hair.) :LOL Now, she has decided that it is time for her to be the mommy and give her babies "mama-both-sides". She announced this yesterday. She walks around nursing her dolls all the time, but I think she's using this as her way of ending the breastfeeding relationship. We had a serious talk and she said that she really no longer wants to nurse (she was nursing only once every few days anyway) and she... she said "Thank you Mommy for sharing your mama-both-sides". : It was a wonderful and beautiful 3.5 years and we both became better people for the nursing relationship. So, this is my weaning party, which is somewhat bittersweet, as you all know/will know.

How sweet! I can't imagine my almost 3.5 year old having that kind of knowledge or understanding LOL It is bittersweet though.

OT: I love your screen name! Did you happen to race bicycles at any point? My almost 11 yo is a budding little track cyclist - I just ordered his first track bike for him last Friday.

Karen - yes, I was a CAT3 cyclist at one time. Not any more. I did only one TT in a velodrome. Very, very intense. I'm not a sprinter and I was way outside my league. Good luck with your 11 year old. Cycling is amazing!!!!

it does seem like they grow up overnight. Enjoy every minute.

It's so beautiful that she was able to continue until she was ready to stop. It sounds like it went to so well.
