The other day I was feeling lots of movement from the baby, so I pulled up my shirt to see if I could see my belly moving.

DS saw and said "Is the baby coming today?"

I said, "No, the baby has to grow for a while more. We've got to wait a long time yet."

He said, "That baby is going to be really big when he's born." Then, pointing to my my belly button, "That hole needs to get alot bigger!"

Not from your ddc but couldn't read w/o responding. That is so stinkin' cute!

I was showing my dd photos of babies crowning and head out today--she was transfixed. She's very interested in witnessing the birth of our baby.

She knows about the "birth canal" and often gets into the laundry basket to pretend mother cat giving birth to her litter. She talks in really high cat voice and says, "I'm giving birth and my kittens are coming out of my birth canal". She's never seen a cat in labor. This is something she's come up with on her own. It make me smile.

That's adorable. I have a 3 year old ds too, and he keeps asking me if the baby is going to come out of my bummer.
Wow, I just noticed that your ds is 3 days older than mine!

Okay, this inspired me to get around to something I've been meaning to do for a while ... watch a bunch of birth videos on You Tube with 2.5 year old dd. With a strong emphasis on the baby coming out of the vagina.

It's so hard to tell how much she really "gets" though ...

This reminded me of my best friends daughter....she's 6.

Her father last year had neck (spinal) surgery, followed by 2 vasectomies. (That's a whole other story....)

But anyway, she walked up to him one day when her mother wasn't home (no protection for dad) and said "So I've been thinking...." (Coming from Ainsley, this means RUN!!!!!!!!!!!)

So she said "So I've been thinking...Kayla and Sophie and Lily all were girl dogs and they all had surgery so that they couldn't have babies...and you had a surgery so that mom couldn't have any more babies...and it's not like you have to TOUCH her......(awkward silence)......she gasps....OH, we're not talking about your NECK surgery are we????"

Then just before Christmas, she was watching some sort of nativity movie, and afterwards her and her mom were alone in the car. She says to Julie "So I've been thinking...(again, RUN!)...do babies come out your butt?" Julie was like "What on earth????" She said "Well, Sarah was having a baby in the movie and she was kind of squatting and it looked like she was pooping..."

LOL!!!!
