What a site...her crawling toward me, diaper-less with a "sh!t-eating grin" on her face...poop smeared across the floor and walls and her adorable little self feeling accomplished and shameless.<br><br><br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/eat.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Eat">:

You have put me to shame. Never again will I scream in horror (as I did last night) when the poop rolls off the diaper and onto the changing table/floor.... And to think I worry about him sticking his foot in it.... <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Yuck!!! We caught my 3yo (about 18 mo at the time) about to pop a "nugget" in his mouth. Luckily it was caught in time. That is pretty yucky to find a poopy mouthed baby.<br><br>

Ha! My 20 year old little brother did that when he was a baby! I remember it was soo gross, and I had to help clean up the walls and floors covered in poo!

Well, we've been covered in poo, but so far... it hasn't gotten in anyone's mouth. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/fingersx.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="fingersx">:

On the upside, you now have a story to embarrass her with by telling it at inappropriate times for all the rest of her life. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngtongue.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Stick Out Tongue">

Can I be just totally unpopular--and say that I would have her checked for sensory issues? I just think eating and smearing one's poo, at any age, is questionable. Please don't be mad at me for suggesting this.

At 9 months I wouldn't consider checking for sensory issues (maybe at 2 or 3)...maybe just check the diaper more often.

I agree. I might however, check for E.coli issues due to the ingestion of the poo<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/inthet.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="inthet"> ....
