I just wanted to take a moment to post this. So often we here problems w/dh's not doing anything or doing the bare minimum, etc.

Last week I accepted a teaching position. I just graduated in May, so this is a good thing. My MIL usually watches the kids, but is out of town until this weekend. So, DH took a week off work to cover the week of childcare we needed. I was worried that I'd still have to do the cleaning, cooking, etc.

However, while DH was home, he did EVERYTHING that I usually do- and then some. He cooked, he cleaned, he did laundry, he did yardwork, he gave baths, etc. And, more important, he didn't complain or try to make me feel bad for working REALLY long days the first few ones, to get my classroom ready. He went with me to my school on the weekend to move desks (with kids in tow and all).

If I could just TEACH, things would be fine, but there's SO much going on that I have to get ready- I brought home hours of stuff to do this weekend. I'm so stressed and worried about my new profession and he's just doing everything exactly right, without my having to tell him.

He's AWESOME and I love him! I told him this and will tell him again. I just wanted to share.

Awesome. Being a teacher is so much work outside of work.
Give your dh a hug. My dh is great in circumstances like that too. I think it's b/c they have a clear cut goal: help you get ready for work.

OK I need to talk to your dh because how does he get the cooking, cleaning, laundry, yardwork, and baths done? I have one kid, no job and am still trying to perfect that. He is awesome. Sounds like the two of you make a great team.
