AGHHHHHHH MAKE IT STOP!!!! Someone, anyone, please please make my precious 8 mo old stop grinding her teeth. She started this morning and it is already driving me batty. I can't stand the sound, I really can't!! My husband does this and I make him wear a mouthpiece every night otherwise I just flip out.

So seriously, how long with this last? She has two big bottom teeth and two little ones on the top, the ones next to the front ones. She is also going to get the top two very soon, they just came through the surface.

I have been putting things in her mouth to chew all morning but she throws them away and starts grinding. I abhor pacifiers at any age but I really want to give her one if it will make her stop!

I'm going over here. I had the exact same thing -same eruption pattern- with my daughter-she had the bottom two front and the top two incisors-big gap in front. She would grind her teeth and it drove me nuts! But it didnt last long-once her front two came in-it stopped. Hopefully it won't be long for you, too

eta: just saw that your husband does this in his sleep-mine too-just when he is stressed-i used to "deal" with it and gently nudge him when we were first married-after 11+ years, its a full blown nudge the second he starts

My dd just started that a couple days ago. We were in the store and she start grinding. I sadi to my dh "do you hear what she is doing" and he looked at me like "YEAH make her stop". I just stick my finger in her mouth and she bit me instead. She did it for a couple days and I actually haven't heard it in the last day...But I know what you mean....yikes!!!!

My son has 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom, that crunching sound goes right through me. What I do is blow raspberries or stick my tongue out or curl my tongue or do something "interesting" with my mouth and he usually copies me or at least stops to stare at me long enough to forget the grinding. Or I give him a rice cake or something to crunch. I read somewhere that ignoring it is the best thing, not make a big deal of it, but it is almost impossible to ignore!!!

My last babe did this too when he first got his top and bottom teeth together. I think they do it just because it's something new. I remember as soon as it drove me nuts, it was over within a week or two (it got old)

Evan only has 2 teeth right now, but my 2yo does this in his sleep. I sometimes haveto reach over and grab his cheeks b/c I just can't take it. Thankfully he's been sleeping w/ just dh and he usually sleeps rightthrough it.
