I went in today to get an u/s because I'm measuring 2.5 weeks big and the dr. wanted to rule out polydydraminos (I had that with DS2). So, sure enough, I'll be 29 weeks tomorrow and the baby is measuring 31.4 weeks. I've only gained 6lbs so they think it's just DH's fault (he's 6'6). Both of my boys measured 2 weeks ahead too. They said this baby measures in the 91-95th % which makes me laugh because my boys measure in that now.

Dr. said there is nothing I can really do about it. I was really hoping to carry this baby to 38 weeks but if he's measuring this big I'm betting he'll come at 36 weeks like the others did. My dr. said to keep him in until 37 weeks and I said I'd do my best

Anyway he's weighing 3lbs 1 oz which just blew my mind! This is really feeling real now

How do they know how much he weighs with that much certainty? Wow!

According to the perinatologist that did my U/S at 29 weeks, my baby was 4 pounds. I know my baby is on the big side but I don't think the weight measurement given to me was totally accurate or anything. It's fun to know our babes are definitely growing though! Definitely aren't little beans anymore.

I've heard a lot that u/s results aren't accurate with weight, but with both my other boys they got their birth weights by a few oz.

They said "normal" weight right now is 2.5 oz. And 15.5 inches long. Its crazy! explains the bumping I've been feeling I suppose!!

my babe was also measuring big at my 29/30 week u/s. Weighing in at 4lb which is crazy! I have an appointment on thursday so i'll be anxious to see what they have to say about that since they are always b*tching about my lack of weight gain (6lbs so far)

what is so funny is that at my 27 week appt my doc told me my baby was 2.2 lbs and it was small. He said most German babies are averaged around 2.8 lbs (AT 27 WEEKS!!!) hahaha yeah, that is bc I am not a giant Bavarian. They have tall, big babies in this area and the doc looked at me and said, yeah your baby is measuring just perfect. haha

I had an u/s at 28 weeks for growth (typical for twins) and they were both around 2.3-2.5 lb., which is in the 35th percentile. My son was that as well when I was pg with him. I was happy...the last thing I need is growth restriction.

I’ll get another one in a month. Twins are at higher risk for growth restriction, which is why I get more of them.

Awww isn't this just so exciting? I haven't bought anything for the new baby yet and I'm so busy with the other two and DH working twelve billion hours a day that it's just finally sinking in.

I was measuring 5 weeks ahead at my 26 week appt, but my OB wants to wait until 30 weeks to do an us, if she decides to. She said that some women, especially with more than the second pregnancy, measure ahead in the 20 weeks and then settle down in the 30s. I hadn't realized how big they were getting now, though... sounds sort of fun to find out what your baby measures at, even if it isn't totally accurate!!!

Well just to show you they all have different ways of measuring, my baby was supposedly in the 60th percentile today at 28w3d and is supposed to be around 3 lbs. No one said she was ahead.

Awww, this is so great to hear that everyone's babies are growing and are all healthy. I haven't had a U/S in a while and I'm not sure when I'll have another one, so I'm not sure how much my little guy weighs, but he's been bumping and turning around so much in there these days that I think he might be getting a little cramped.
