On saturday hubby took me to the hospital for contractions that jsut would not stop. I was afraid they wouldn't see me because my doctor is not connected to the hospital I went to, but they did. turned out my intestines were irritating my uterus and causing the contactions and not preterm labor. lucky me had the flu. I spent all of saturday and most of Sunday having fluids pumped in me. it's a good thing i went to the hospital because my potassium was pretty low. today is the first day I've been able to get out of bed for more than tehn minutes at a time.

But make sure you take it easy for a while, you don't need to get sick again and the mess will still be there next week when you feel 100%

Oh you poor thing! That sounds like quite a scare. Hang in there! Take it easy!

My DH loves Gatorade and the like, so any excuse to buy it, he would.

hehehe....all i know is that ketones are something that your body ends up with too many of if you've been eating a low-carb diet. (supposedly) I heard a lot about "ketone overload" when i was reading articles bashing the atkins diet years ago

Yeah, dehydration will definitely do it. I flew cross-country to visit family when I was 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby, and wound up in the ER the night after my plane trip with regular contractions. It turned out I was just dehydrated -- they made me drink a lot of water while I was there, and monitored me until the cxs stopped, and then sent me home. Not fun! I feel your pain - it's very scary, and I'm glad it turned out to just be a hydration/virus issue.
