Yep~ Nesting finally kicked in! I have accomplished more since about 8pm last night than in the last 3 weeks. All of a sudden I had a stong desire to pack my hospital bag, clean out closets, rearrange drawers and furniture, and wash car seat padding. I feel so productive! There is still tons to do since everything has been piling up for so long while I just get by on survival but I am feeling pretty darn good right now. Someone told me that they think nesting is strongest 2 weeks prior to delivery. Someone please tell me you delivered the next day becuase I don't think I can wait 2 more weeks. I am 38.5 weeks (based on ultra sound...by my cycle I am over 40) so...just hoping it is soon.

Yes! Me too! It's about time, too. I've been waiting for this energy spurt for months now.

Yay!
Mine kicked in over the weekend & the house looks awesome! We've completely re-arranged 2 of our 3 levels... put away alllll of the stuff that piled up in 2 areas. Made our room into one big "pit bed", w/two twins & a full sized all together on the floor. Cleaned/organized the pantry & fridge, linen closet, under the bathroom sink, categorized all of the diapering supplies... hung a clothesline in the extra room... there's more.

I was going to start a thread titled "Hope for the resting" because I was completely unable to get anything done for the longest time, I couldn't stay on top of the day to day chores & now I'm knocking out long-standing accumulations & clutter left & right! I'm almost done inside so now I'm looking outside w/new eyes & am ready to do some serious yard work!

What is this strange nesting instinct you all speak of?

I am still just having nesting thoughts. I think "wow I should really go through the baby clothes" and just the thought exhausts me. I am really hoping this mysterious nesting urge you all speak of kicks in and gets some stuff done. Yesterday I was in tears all day because I had so much pelvic pressure and was just feeling overly emotional. I feel like I am getting close but then am worried I am deluding myself and will go way over. : I am glad you all are getting things done. At least someone is!
I'm so glad to read this - I cannot imagine any kind of nesting happening in the next few weeks and was afraid I was the only one majorly lacking in energy.

Ditto here....just nesting thoughts...but then again I have never been really big on "cleaning".

My mom on the other hand has been "nesting" for me for the last 2 weeks. She is out of town this week, but before she left she came over and swept....mopped...cleaned the kitchen....helped me finish the nursery and spare bedroom...etc. She wanted everything done....just in case...

i've been nesting for like a month now LOL. two weekeneds ago we did INSANE stuff in this house. i mean i was moving BEDS type stuff, up and down 2 flights of stairs. i completely reorganized our pantry, several cupboards, 2 fridge/ freezers as well.

it's been like this all week. i have this serious obsession with the house being CLEAN and neat and i've had two break downs since last weekend due to my kids making messes LOL. every ounce of laundry is done, the carseat went into the car last night along with the bags and pillow for the hospital. i had my appt today and everything looked great, babe is head down and in the correct position i did NOT spill ketones this time and my BP was totally normal!

i've been going to the gym at night too! and i really did think last night was it. i had contractions for about 2 hrs every 4-5 min. i had them sporadically through out the night but then nothing today.

i have no clue if nesting is strongest 2 weeks before the birth or not, but i do konw that i've been doing it for a LOOONGGG time now. i'm trying to tie up lose ends anywhere i can so that i don't have to worry about it come next week. i am making some shirts for a friend that is having a homebirth, she is due the exact same time i am so, i'm making shirts for her babe and mine tonight, hopefully. plus i need to go to the gym and sand my belly cast so the girls and i can get around to painting it. tomorrow night is preschool orientation, friday is kindergarten orientation, and saturday we are planning on going to these caverns by our house ( luray caverns in va). busy busy busy!

Wow I wish I had this nesting you are talking about. I THINK about doing stuff but then just go lay on the couch lol. I am hoping it kicks in this weekend when I have 3 days off. I really need to start organizing the babies clothes.

Well I nested so much, now I'm back to being really tired and nothing's getting done anymore. But I really need to do some general cleaning. I'm glad y'all are enjoying your nesting though.

I am in the camp that has nested and now some of my best work has been undone. I wish everybody would just wait to change their clothes until after this babe arrives so that I could keep up with everything.

We had some construction done and then moved everything in the house but the kitchen and my son. The girls are so much happier and things looked so nice for a few days. I had washed through the baby laundry already and wondered about doing it again. It has been used on dolls but real dirty laundry keeps me busy enough.

Each day over the past week I have found a new level of uselessness. I no longer wake up and pretend when the phone rings in the afternoon. I let the kids tell whoever it is that I am asleep with no shame.

I have done my nesting. I have gotten everything ready for baby. I have cleaned my car. I have cleaned my house. I have done all the laundry. My bag and the baby bag is packed. I still have no baby and the thought of having to do it ALL AGAIN in a few days and still not having this baby is killing me.
