This is someone who from day1 wouldnt even speak in my direction while i was nursing. He would look the other way all uncomfortable and get red. (typical 25 yr old not used to seeing breasts outside of a sexual manner, right) well anyway, i was on the phone with my friend and mentioned about how i was going to see my grandmother and how i just "couldnt wait" to hear her laterst pile of BS on why I NEED to wean DD to cows milk......and I hear My daughters Father say to dd "Just tell memere you are going to be breastfed until your 10!"

I almost peed my pants! I wonder if he has been talking to His mom about nursing! She has always been hugely supportive of my crunch level, she breastfed all her kids always asking...youre not weaning her yet, right? etc.

This is just such an improvement from the guy who wouldnt even sit next to me while nursing! im excited!

Not to be a downer, but I think b/c my dh and I are both smart mouths, if my dh said something like that it would be to encourage dd to antagonize my grandmother not b/c he decided to be overly supportive of bf. I would probably encourage dd to say the same thing to any relative of his that I wanted to antagonize and knew that a comment like that would upset them. Just something to consider. But if it is b/c he's coming around, that's great!

ftr my dh is extremely supportive of bf. he also has no desire to antagonize my grandmother, only my sister.

: or something to that effect. The fact that he could say something even though it was sarcastic, about extended breastfeeding, means a lot for him!

I dont care if hes supportive of Extended bfing the fact that he is finally comfortable enough to say something impresses the heck out of me...sad but that shows how "great" its been between the 2 of us...rolling eyes
