I had a baby a week ago, and for some odd reason this popped up 2 or 3 days postpartum. It's not my stomach that hurts, it's my belly button. It's literally painful to the touch- that and a tiny area underneath, but nowhere else in the area. The lochia's OK, so I doubt it's postpartum-related, but I don't know. Oddly, it's ONLY painful when touched- nothing otherwise.

It poses a problem while nursing etc. because if anything touches my belly button, including tiny feet or hands, it HURTS.

I'd rather not go to a doctor at this point, no energy to deal with the homebirth flak.

Any insight?

Hmmm I had/have the same thing. The good news is that it gets better. The bad news is that I don't know what it is. Mine was very painful/sensitive after the birth. Then after a while (I don't remember how long, but it wasn't too long) it got better. But it was still sensitive, and still it. Like if someone/something pokes in my bellybutton it sends this weird shooting feeling through that seems to travel down to my pubic area. It's not a pain really but almost like a pinched nerve. I don't like it, but it doesn't seem to be harmful. And I barely notice it anymore unless something pokes deep in it.

I hope it gets better soon.
