I feel so silly about how much I'm looking forward to this! And my partner has been going crazy... he wants to be the first one to "discover" that they work. Ha. Claim first dibs on the milk before the baby.

HAHAHA!! This happened to me too. This is our first and while I was in the hospital for preterm labor last week, the last 2 nights they had me on the post partum floor. In the room next to us was a mother and a newborn. Well at around 10 pm Dh and I were eating dinner he brought up, when the newborn started crying. Well, all the sudden I felt Dh staring at me and I looked down and my breasts were leaking like a faucet. HAHAHAHA My DH was in total SHOCK!! I had to explained to him about the baby crying and blah blah blah and he almost died. He had NO idea that our bodies could do that based on a sound. So he has spent every single night since I got out of the hospital sitting next to my bb's going "Waaaa, Waaaa, Waaaa" *making baby crying sounds* trying to make them leak again.
: I have tried to explain to him that my body knows the difference between the noise "waaaa" and an actual crying baby but he still does it bc he thinks it is soooo funny. Silly Men!!

Me, too!! DS has been nursing quite a bit more in the past month or so. I keep asking him, 'Is there milk in there?' and he unlatches, backs his head a bit, looks at my nipple and says and affirmative 'Mm-hmm.'
But when I try to express with my hand, I get nothing.

Yep, I can't express anything either.

The only time I ever noticed that I had leaked was when my ds was 12 months old. I had a wet spot the size of a dime on my nightshirt.

I guess my point is for any first timers out there - it really doesn't mean anything if you "leak" or not.

Good point. I actually have never leaked, and until I was a couple months pregnant this time around, I made a good amount of milk.

I certainly don't intend to be rude to OP here or sound like you shouldn't be excited! I actually like the title of your thread!
But it is important for non-leaking first timers to know their breasts work too.
I remember buying a huge stash of pads to wear in my bra when I was pregnant and ended up having to return them.

Hmmm...that makes me wonder, for those of you who are pregnant with #3, can it be different this time around? Could I be a leak-fest come early March?? Or is it unlikely since I didn't leak with the first babe?

I haven't experienced this yet, sorta wish I would, but at the same time, the thought of my breasts leaking sorta freaks me out for some reason. I guess I better get used to it!

Should our breasts leak during pregnancy? Or just afterwards?

I hardly ever wear a bra, and my sister said I am going to have to because my breasts will leak all over when I am breastfeeding. Or does it vary from woman to woman?

There's no reason to worry if you don't leak during pregnancy, or even afterward for that matter. I never leaked (that I recall), and nursing my son went perfectly.

Funniest thing I've read all night. Had to read to DH- he said he would actually get recordings of real babies.... (kidding) and then he said- when are you girls going to realize that we're all still just little boys?
