Today we were riding in the car and my 6 year old was telling me she knew how to spell kissing. Then she spelled it out very quickly. I figured they had learned that little chant about various people sitting in trees, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Sure enough, she started singing it for me, and her friends told her they say something like Mommy and Daddy, sitting in the tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes me in the baby carriage.<br><br>
Earlier this year she informed me that she had a boyfriend. They were riding in the van on a field trip and they decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend. For awhile they'd say good-bye to each other using those titles. It was kind of cute. So today I started singing about Molly and her boyfriend sitting in a tree, and she said, "No, It's Molly, J. and K. sitting in a tree" I told her that the three of them can't get married and she said she knew that. I said, "Well isn't K. your boyfriend?" She said, "Yes, but J. is cute!"<br><br>
:LOL

My daughter has also had boyfriends, and now we caught her kissing one of them. It bothers me to no end. She has promised not to do it again, but, well, time will tell.

When I was 8, there was a boy in my neighborhood who wanted to play with me. He said he wanted to play house. I was surprised, but figured what the heck. But he wanted to play house where he was the dad who came home and I was the mom and he kissed me. Once our house was in the back of my dad's Sprint pick-up car. He put plywood across the bed so that it made a little shelter, then we went in and pretended we were going to bed and we kissed. I could honestly not figure out why he was so obsessed with this because I didn't think it was very fun. It wasn't until later that it made more sense to me, but there was nothing sexual about it at all and I didn't even think like that at that age.

Viola - I had a similar "relationship" with a boy in my neighborhood around the same age. We would "practice" kissing. I really don't think it's unusual.<br><br>
When I was in Kindergarden I had a pretend marriage ceremony with my best friend - me and him went around for the rest of the year saying we were husband and wife :LOL

my four year old has been drawing "love pictures" to the neighbors' 6yo triplet grandsons! I asked her which one she loved, she said all three of them. :LOL I honestly didn't know little boys liked girls at this age, but they are always tripping over each other trying to impress her, and they are very protective of her, too.
