Yesterday, DH took DS with him on a fishing trip- they left at about 8 in the morning (I slept in ). I packed diapers (FB, pretty much all DH uses) and wipes in the bag, DH knows the routine of changing. I was only expecting them to be going through lunch or so, but I called and DH said they would stay out as long as DS was happy- which turned into 9:00 pm!

Anyhow, they came back and I asked for the dirty dipes....there were none! I asked DH why he never changed a diaper- his response was that DS never pooped, so....why should he have : . We often have that conversation at home- I ask if he can change a dipe, he checks and says it's not poopy, I say it's time to be changed anyway since I'm sure he's peed. Why is this is a difficult concept?? Well, at least I know a FB stuffed with a Thirsties microfiber can last *allllll* day!

That's pretty funny. That reminds me of when I was pregnant w/our first and DH and I were budgeting. Someone told us babies go through 10 diapers per day at first so we were trying to figure out how many to buy (sposies, when we didn't even know about cloth : ). DH looked at me and said, "What? They can't possibly poop ten times a day, maybe four at most." :

Yes, I'm *so* surpised there was no leaks! And I'm glad he ended up in a FB all day as he would have had a really sore red penis without a fleece layer (he's prone to that)- no redness at all! Funny how other DH's don't get it either- would they like to be sitting in pee?

My dh does the same thing! I'll be gone to class for hours and come home to find him in the same dipe I left him in, and his excuse is always "he didn't poop..."

must be a dad thing?

I've got the opposite. DH will change DS constantly. He does lots of checking and, even if dry, changes the dipe. Definitely great for DS but I'm doing lots of laundry!

My dh is the same... I use fitted and PFs around the house, but if dh is watching him I have to put him in FBs. It drives me crazy that he can keep my ds in the same diaper for 5-6 hours!

My DH could change our DD constantly, he coos to her and she gurgles and giggles back and what is important - she lies still. DS on the other hand has to be caught first as he is always very busy and hates having to stop to change soooooo it is mommys job and the standard answer is... you've guessed it, "but he hasn't pooped!":

Yep, took me a looong time to get DH to unlearn the "no poo, no change" approach to diapering. My newest challenge is convincing him that a diaper might be wet and in need of changing, even if the top fleece/suedecloth layer still feels dry!

Sometimes he likes to remove the wet microfiber insert and 'recycle' the fb/bg by inserting a new, dry insert into the same dipe.
