My dil is awesome! She just gave birth to twins.6.9 And 7.14.Two full term babies really. What should be a joyous time has been pretty harrowing.Because they both stayed breech it was a shedualed c-section.Instead of a fairly routine procedure she bled out and received 14 units of blood. After they thought they had it stopped she continued to bleed from a burst ovarian vessel and they had to take her back in.Basically she had her fluid replaced 3 times. She's out of icu and finally in her own room.
We were able to keep the babies with her if I stayed with them.So she's been able to see them and hold them and bond, but she's absolutely exhausted and so is my ds.

It shouldn't have been this way,and I know the'll have a rough couple of months ahead of them.By then he'll have to deploy with his ship.It just all seems really hard.

My young beautiful dil should be home with her babies, instead she's still in the hospital, the babies are spending most of the time in the nursery and she's having to deal with recovering from major surgery and postpartum stuff.
It's just so wrong.

They saved her life and I'm so thankful for that. She's young and strong and she'll recover. It's just been so hard to see stuff like this happen to my own family. The whole Icu thing was a nightmare.Funny thing was when they had her intubated they couldn't sedate her.She stayed awake, signing mostly for ice chips and stuff. She's so strong....

That's awesome that you are a new grandma! Congratulations! Also, that's super that you were able to keep the babies with her by staying with them too. :

congrats on your new grandbabies! I'm so sorry your DIL is having such a rough time with the birth stuff. Why are OBs so afraid of breech births?

Wow! That sounds so scary, wonderful, awful, and loving all at the same time. I am so sorry that your dil and ds had such a rough time, and I am thankful to hear that they are all doing alright not. You sound like such an amazing mil and I'm sure you will be an amazing support for your dil when your ds has to ship out.
