Just last month we adopted an older dog. He doesn't fart, but he burps like that guy Barney on the Simpsons.

I feel for ya though - at least my dog's burps don't smell too bad.

I was going to ask how you were still conscious after smelling a dog fart. : Dog farts should be classified as WMD's.

I think they had a "24" episode where the weapon about to be released was dog fart. Seriously. The terrorists fed a bunch of rottweillers some bean burritos and broccoli, then aimed their collective butts at L.A.. It was a real nail-biter....Jack Bauer almost didn't survive the stank.

my dog starred in that episode!

i hate when you can hear the dog rip over the tv set. you know the smell is not far behind, and my hair-trigger gag reflex inevitably gets set off!

One time my husband's dog was sitting there minding her own business and cut a really loud squeaker of a fart 'cause her but was up against the plastic floor mat for the computer chair. She jumped up, completely freaked out and barked at her own fart. DH wasn't home at the time to witness it for himself, but I have never let him live down what a genius his dog is that she barked at her own fart.

And, there will be murder done if anyone feeds that dog cheese or eggs, or Gods forbid: cheesy eggs. The one time DH did that, the WMD woke me up gasping for air in the middle on the night, and even the dog was trying to get out of the room away from the smell. DH didn't even wake up until I woke him, thanks to his nasal allergies.

I had a kitten once that when fed a certain brand of cat food would fart like that. It was amazing that such a terrible stink could come out of such a cute tiny little thing!

My boxer is laying on my feet right now, farting away. It seriously smells awful. However, if I move he just follows me so I guess I'm just stuck in the fumes. I can't wait until DH gets home-then maybe he'll follow him around.

You should smell our bedroom in the mornings when he's had a gassy night. Even better-he always sleeps on the floor by MY side of the bed. :

My 12 pound Jack Russell is the worst. I had no idea something so disgusting could come from such a little dog. He is RANK.

And my big dog, a 60 (plus) pound lab cross.. she'll fart, then whip around and look at her butt like she was surprised by it or something. It's hilarious. At least hers don't stink!

I called my dh over to see this thread and we were both dying! Our lab mix has these silent but deadly farts. They are so bad and super embarrassing when you have guests.

He use to sleep up in our room and typically on my side of the bed and w/out fail every night he would let one rip just as I was falling asleep. I sleep so much better now that he's downstairs at night!

My dog has never created audible gas, but just before she lets one fly, she lets out this loud exasperated groan. We know we have approximately 4 seconds to evacuate before we're slammed!

I guess I should feel lucky that she warns us!
