Went in for my 1st ultrasound today and everything checks out good, baby is measuring 12 wks 6 days and we're going to keep my due date of October 19th (he better, I'm sure of my dates), and the heartbeat sounds strong. I forgot to ask how many bpm, but it sounded fast enough to me. Only thing is she didn't seem to be moving around as much as my other ones were during their ultrasounds, but maybe that is a good thing, I don't need another high energy kid! I was kinda hoping for another boy, but now I have to start over from scratch

And I'm having trouble picking a girl's name to go with Kai and Caden that isn't too close .... but I got a while yet. I'm so excited to find out this early!!! I really wasn't expecting it. Dr said that it's easier to see on "skinny" women. I like him already.

How detailed is the US machine he used? Because man, that's early! We did the nuchal at a little over 12 weeks and the quality of the picture was pretty archaic compared with some pics I saw.

: That is super early! I hope he wasn't overly eager to give some info. My doc just said that it's easy to find the heartbeat right away on skinny mamas. That was only because dd was asking questions about how she knew exactly where the baby was.

I don't know, I didn't even ask, he just blurted it out! It's a good thing I wanted to know,

. If it turns out to be a boy I won't be heartbroken. I trust his judgment though, he has 17 yrs of experience and he does his own ultrasounds. His machine does 3d/4d as well as 2d. This was a 2d scan. I'm arrogant enough to think that if there was a penis there he would have noticed, b/c my boys are well-endowed

i found out i'm probably pregnant with a baby girl at 13w2d though babe was measuring at about 14w.

wow, nice to know so early! i had my first u/s and bloodwork for the ips and the u/s was super grainy - no chance of knowing gender

but i would love to be in your position and know the gender already. lucky mama!!!!

I'm trying not to get my hopes up that we'll find out the gender at my next ultrasound (13 weeks) but that would be so cool!
