I have had this problem for a couple months, but just considered a minor annoyance with all the other things going on in my life. But I just happened to click on this forum today, and would like to get some opinions on it and see if I can stop it!
The inside (like ear canal) of my left ear is incredibly itchy. I haven't put anything on it, and it's not 24/7, just occasionally, but at least 1-3 times a day. I can't see in it, but DH swears it looks normal.
Wax? I have incredibly waxy ears and my ears itch all the time. I don't clean them w/a q-tip b/c that would do more harm than good b/c there is so much wax. Have you tried a warm wash cloth? Just swab out your ears w/that when you take a shower.
Could be a latent infection- fungal or bacterial. I would wash out my ears with peroxide, TTO solution, or grapefruit seed extract dilution. I would also use garlic/mullein/olive ear oil. Great stuff to have around the house.
I have had the good fortune to have a serious ear infection once (and no health insurance) since dd was born. So I have recently experienced the symptoms- and feel soooo bad for the bottle-fed chronic ear infection babies. Itching is definitely a symptom of something brewing. The stuff I mentioned is antibacterial and antifungal. Itching can be a sign of either, or both.
