My first babywearing experience - yay!

So, my little girl will be one month next monday and I hadn't been successful in getting her to be in the Wise Woman Sling I had gotten until today. After a little manuevering, I think I have the hang of it and little girl has been sleeping in it all morning! I feel so happy!

One question: does it matter what hieght she is at? Right now her head is about boob level and I was thinking it might be more comfy if she was a little higher, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions?

Her lowest point should be right at about your belly button. She should feel snug against you enough that if you lean over, she doesn't really swing away from your body.
As close to you as you can get without feeling "too" tight. If she is hanging off of you, you're going to find that you have to lean or adjust your body to compensate and you're going to end up with a sore back or shoulders.
I used to wonder why people said babywearing was the best thing in the world, because my slings and carriers just hurt my back. I figured out I was using them way too low, and now I put my baby high enough so my chin touches her head and I don't have any more problems. Not sure if this works for other people, but it sure helped me (I'm 5 feet).
