I dropped my son and four of his friends off at High School this morning and as I watched them walk away it was like I was seeing him for the first time.

I have been looking at him daily for 14.5 years and when ?did he become this MAN that is 6foot tall, handsome, smart and happy that was walking away from my van into this HIGHSCHOOL with his friends and having his OWN LIFE!!!!

Oh, it is lovely and melancholy and wonderful and sad and fantastic all at the same time! I love him so much.
I'm crying the same as when he went to kindergarten.

awww. I feel the same way about my little brother. My mom was going to college full time and working full time, so I did a lot of the more "motherly" things with him. They grow up so fast!!!! Two years ago when I got married, he was only 13 and still very much a kid. How he's this huge, hairy, football playing teenager. It's hard sometimes, but wonderful.

I know what you mean! I remember my dd going off to her first day of high school, all confidant and mostly grown up! Last year she started her Senior year of high school and I was soooo sad and the thought of all this coming to an end...her last homecoming game and dance, last Sadie Hawkins, Prom. They do grow up so fast! Enjoy this time...it goes by so fast!

Despite of how cliche it all souds... they DO grow up fast, seemingly overnight. It's bittersweet.
