Hey, congratulations! I don't think I'd have the patience to go back to something.

So, about this circle shrug...

I just finished my first pair of socks for DH. The only other socks I had made were baby socks, and don't quite count. The first one took me a year and a half (yes, the socks come complete with their own saga). The next one I knit during the month of July. I had that same excited feeling, but mixed with fear and consternation that I would take as long or never finish the second one. I somehow decreased differently on Sock #2's toe, but you can't tell when they're on. :) I plan on becoming obsessed with sock knitting. I am waiting for a set of size 1-13 bamboo dpn's to come in the mail from an ebay seller to cast on the next pair. Surely they will come today! They have to, it's my birthday. It wouldn't be right if they didn't come today...

Your sock looks great, and judging from my experience, it is completely normal to spend inordinate amounts of time admiring it.

Sorry I kinda abandoned my thread! My computer is outta whack.

Thanks everyone!

Yes - definitely feeling obsessed with socks. However, I think this is completely normal as well since sock knitting is
: SO FREAKIN AWESOME
: . Hehehe. I am happy to report I have cast on this sock's partner and am almost done with the ribbing at the top.

The pattern is from the Townsend Sock KAL, which has many, many beautiful patterns. (The one I did is called "Pretty Petals".) My only advice about this pattern is it is perfectly sized for someone with slender feet/ankles, so if you are knitting for someone whose ankles/feet are a little wider you should size up your needle gauge accordingly.

Flapjack - off to take a pic of my shrug just for you dahling.

Oh, i like that
Definitely worth the hours of blood and sweat and tears.

I can't believe how much your little lad has grown whilst you've been MIA; he's really getting to be a big boy now.
