I have decided to make the change from disposable to cloth and I knew that she cloth diapers her dd, so I was asking her some questions about it, and she offered me her CPF's and some covers, plus some old style fuzzi bunz pocket diapers (anyone familiar with these?) and some Happy Heinys (again something I am not familiar with but have seen pictures).

I am so excited about getting these. She is putting them on the bus to me tomorrow hopefully and I can't wait. Last night I dreamt about cloth diapering, lol. Is that sad? :LOL

I know dh is not too excited about this whole change, so I'm not sure how I am going to coax him into changing dd's bum. Anyone else have a dh who was/is unsure about cloth?

Mine doesn't love it. But he deals with it because he understands the value of it.
I don't know anything about old style FBs or any HHs so can't help you there, but welcome to the crazy place!

Welcome aboard! At first my dh wasn't too keen on the cd thing, but knew I was, and went with it. Now, 6 months later, he knows the names of the different brands, tries to convert moms while in line at Sam's Club ... He is a tried and true cpf, snappi, and wool guy, but will venture into snaps too. He even gets into the making of them with me and tells me what he likes and doesn't like about different dipes and covers. My rambling point is, be patient, because your dh may come around too. Plus, he will probably really like the ease of the FB and HH - just prestuff them when they come off the line or out of the dryer (I know, it's a big no-no to dry the pockets, but we do!), and they'll go on as easy as a disposable for your dh. This board is an awesome place to hang out, get advice, and spend money (so be careful what threads you open - be forewarned if the title reads, "Such-and-such is stocking ... run!"). Have fun cd'ing - it's a great switch.

Welcome to Cd'ing. You'll love it and fuzzi bunz are a good start. My dh didn't even know about me cd'ing. I ordered them and when they came he was impressed. Since then, 2 yrs now, he's been doing it right along with me.

At first my DH wasn't very happy about cloth. He would put on a sposie whenever possible. DS got a rash so I said no more sposies until this rash is gone... buy that time he ourgrew his sposies and I never bought anymore. So DH warmed up to the cloth cause he had no other choice. Now he likes to boast and show off our wool covers and fitteds, "Look real diapers!" whenever he shows our son off to someone new. He also boasts about his wool soakers because I am learning to knit and currently working on my first soaker, he says stuff like "She is making one of these right now" and people are pretty impressed. They think the hand knit soakers are cool.

When I was about 6 months pregnant I decided I wanted to c/d. Well, my dh flat out refused to use them or change them. Once the baby was born (may 16th) and he saw how easy the fuzzi bunz were to use and all the nurses drooling over how cute they were..its all we have used. He changes them w/ no problems at all. he wont rinse them, he just lays them in the bathroom and I do all the laundry so far, but it has gone much much better than I ever hoped for. He now is trying to get his sister to use them because they are having alot of money troubles (and he thinks that these have saved us SO much money :LOL )
I would be sure to stick with the fuzzi bunz and the happy heinys for the ease of your hubby. by the way, printed diapers tend to wick (get wet) after a short amount of time. For that reason I stick w/ all solid colors.
