Because I have been talking about using wool! He thinks I should just use what i have (which is prolly to much) and let it be at that. Which ok ... I suppose I can see your point but then he started in on me about Potty Learning with my 26 month old! Then it turned into an arguement because i told him he is not ready. My MIL has him convinced that he was potty trained at 11 months old and i say she is full of you know what and has forgot what it is like to potty train. Anyway ... argh ........

I have a SIL who put her kids on the potty from the time they could sit just a little. Obviously this was more EC than potty training, but both her girls learned quickly.

Mine were much too wiggly to sit still for that nonsense!

If your ds is ready to sit on the potty, I think it is ok to gently encourage him, but I wouldn't pressure him to actually "produce" anything.

You'll just have to do your best to ignore dh and mil.

As for trying out wool, you could always use it on future kids. However if you really do have everything you need, maybe you should just stick w/your current system. One less thing for dh to criticize.

Yeah, My mom says all her kids were trained by one year, and when I pressed her for info, it was clear she was the one who was trained-trained to put us on the potty twenty times a day for close to 18 months. Yikes!

If you could sell some stuff you don't plan to use anymore, maybe that would help your DH justify in his mind, buying new wool? :

I'm going to try wool too - but I'm making my own cover out of an old skirt. DH just rolls his eyes at me and shakes his head! As for the potty training - I would not even try it until you are settled with your new baby. Chances are that you will both work really hard and as soon as the new baby comes home he will just revert - just a waste of time to me. JMHO

Thanks ladies. A friend of mine just read a book and was telling me boys generally do not potty learn until they are 36-42 months and ones that are PUSHED to be trained usually take 6 more months to potty learn. It just frustrates me that he keeps pushing me on this .... 1) I am big fat and pregnant and dont feel like doing it 2) I hear he will only revert if he did potty learn 3) We dont spend money on diapers so who cares 4) I am big fat and pregnant and dont feel like doing it lmao .....

As far as the wool goes well I just bought 4 more covers for the new baby ... shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh of course i bought them used and got a great deal and paid with money i got from selling a few diapers. Also if anyone knows where i can find a pattern online for using wool sweaters to make covers could you point me in the right direction?

Thanks !
