So Ollie had surgergy last Thursday to remove a mass on his leg (left thigh). Everything went really smoothly and he is healing. Aside from the challenges with keeping him comfortable and happy diapers has been interesting. We haven't left the house since we got back from Childrens so we've just been laying a prefold under him. I can't tell you how many times I've been peed on lol. Anyway that works fine up till this point but we have to go back to Childrens for a follow up appointment and to meet the doc to hear what the mass is. I tried a diaper on him (fitted and prefold) the fitted is o.k. but does touch the top of the incision, the prefold I can fold so it doesn't touch so thats obviosuly the best choice. My problem is covers, all of the covers I have cover or put to much pressure on the incision so thats out. What would you do? prefold no cover just deal with wetness or disposibles? The disposibles ride high enough on the thigh that they don't touch the incision. My only issue with disposibles is that well I don't like them and they give my dd rashes I haven't tried them with Ollie yet.

What do you think? Any other options I'm missing in my sleep deprived state?
personally i'd do the prefold/no cover, put a lappad in carseat, makesure seat belt isnt rubbing, and be prepared to change often and for a potentially wet shirt/lap. hope he's ok and it's nothing to be concerned about.

or actually I would try and make a cover to fit where it didn't touch, I have one that fits like a sposie. I think a prefold no cover would be the best choice, just take lots of diapers with you.

I really hope the mass is nothing and everything turns out fine, keep us updated!

I hope everything is okay! So sorry for your experience... geez, things shouldn't happen to little humans.

I'm probably not much help, but I tend to go coverless all the time... I never use a cover. So.... I would just go coverless. The good thing about that is that you know right away when they are wet and can change them.

Lots of healing thoughts coming your way.

yes I will update this afternoon hopefully I'll have good news, this has been a tough couple of months for us. Everytime I look at his leg I just want to cry I can't believe I had to let someone cut my perfect baby

Do you have any pull-on covers? It seems to me that the Alexis Featherlites I have are pretty high-cut (I have to remember to tuck the prefold in) and they're also pretty gentle on my DD's legs.

Hope Ollie's feeling better soon!

Promised I would update everything is wonderful the mass is a hemangioma so we have nothing more to worry about. No we just have to get the little man healed up and life will be all good again. Oh and I ended up just going with prefolds no covers worked just fine
I was born witha hemangioma on my neck. My parents had it removed when I was around 1 because it was so big they were afraid I would bump it and bleed to death since it was on my neck. I hope he heals well.

thanks mamas. We are just over the moon here lol. Its so nice to have this weight gone, now we can just enjoy our little man again. Going without diapers on has been interesting. Ollie pees after every nursing, everytime he wakes up and several times in between lol about every 30 minutes no wonder I had to change him every hour he's a super peeing baby
