my little boundary setter.

Danny is four, and he has always been my little snuggler. The last of the line, and always wanting to "cuddle buddle." Well, today we were watching Zaboomafu (sp?), and I pulled him up on my lap for a cuddle. He looked me in the eye and said "Mom, I just really want to be alone right now." When I asked why, he said "I don't know, I'm just really tired of talking to you today." Um, ok.

Well, at least he was honest about it. So I grabbed a book and layed down in my room with the door open for a little while.

So I guess he is setting healthy boundaries. He was not at all harsh about it, just very matter-of-fact.

It's amazing he could identify and articulate those feelings so well. And good job to you for teaching that, and respecting it. Aren't they amazing!
