I made curry to be ready for my husband when he got home from golfing - yeah, so he texts that he's gonna get lunch with the guys, dat otay? Well, I guess so, at least I have delicious homemade curry (chicken, brown sugar, coconut milk, green curry paste, carrots, potatoes, turnips, onions, rice).<br>
It's too spicy to eat! Yikes. Now what? Make a bunch more rice? I over cooked it already waiting for him, it's kinda mushy.<br><br>
I'll have plenty of time to stew while I wait for him to come back with the car. 4 cars and only one of them is good to drive right now. *Tap*Tap*Tap*

Yes, dairy takes away some of the spice. But keep in mind, I don't know your DH and friends, but in our family there is almost no such thing as too spicy to eat <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> we are often complaining about 98% of the restraunts in town that when we order the "spiciest" we get like almost no spice whatsoever. It is almost comical, a running joke, Rico's for instance a Mexican company, their "loco" flavor (opposed to "******" which is mild, "poco loco" which is a little spicy and "loco" which (supposedly) is spicy,) well "loco" is indistinguishable from "******" to us, no spice whatsoever. We like spice, alot. Anyway, maybe they will like it. I don't believe in (very often) too spicy to eat <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">.

That'd be good if I could eat dairy, but I'm allergic. Think soy milk will work?<br>
I tried it again, it's still too spicy.<br><br>
My husband has no threshhold for "too hot". His Mexican friends taught him to say "Make it like I'm a Mexican" in spanish. There's apparently a whole nother menu if you ask right. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1"> He gets 5 star Thai, and enters jalapeno eating contests. I've never seen him spice out, although he doesn't like the hottest hot wings (too vinegary, he says).<br><br>
He got lunch with the guys at the golf course, so he won't get to eat the curry that's probably just spicy enough for him...ha. Serves him right. I've been doing his laundry all day. I ate all the turnips out of the curry for spite.

Add more coconut milk--that's how I have fixed too hot Thai food. I know you can fix too hot chili with a bit of honey stirred in (also, a spoonful cools a burnig tongue like nobody's business!). Oh, and when I add too much siracha (sp?) hot sauce in my Cambodian soups, the owner has me add extra hoison sauce to the broth to take the heat out, which works really well to temper it.<br><br>

Add soy yogurt I am allergic to dairy too and haven't tried making curry since finding that out...so I am not sure how well soy yogurt would work, so do stick some in and let me know. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">
