Tuesday morning and afternoon my two youngest and I were standing with signs for our favorite candidates in the election. We were on a walkover that went over the most traveled street in our city. Of course when my youngest wanted to nurse I sat down and got to business. It didn't hit me until later that this was extremely public.

There were a lot of people honking but I think it was just for the candidate (or people against him... he did lose afterall). I suppose I could tell myself that it was for me too

It's particularly great that you didn't even realize you were nursing in front of so many people at first. That's the way it should be!

I had to nurse during the last presidential election. The line was really long, and the only chair was up near the front of the line. So while DH held my place in line, I sat in the chair and nursed in front of everyone filing past to vote.

Thats what I thought after I realized what I'd done. I've always just fed my babies where ever we happen to be when they get hungry. Over the highway I was the only female and was with the pastor of my church. I did the same thing during church last night, I sat right there and fed the baby.

Once during lunch with the pastoral staff of our church I was feeding DS2 (who was almost 2 at the time) and the senior pastor said "I know how we can raise money for the church! We have all the day care kids bring $5 and Rachel can nurse them." It was really funny in that lighthearted kind of way.
