I love my mother-in-law! Seriously. I hear people complain about their MILs but I am just so, so lucky to have her!
My mother-in-law is in her 80s. She is supportive and loving, etc. Anyhow, a couple days ago, we were talking about homebirths and she was talking about people she knows who had a breech unassisted birth back in the 80s and how great it was for them. She was also talking about homebirths and how they used to be the norm (her husband was a homebirth... which many/most were 80 years ago)
So I took the plunge and told her "I just feel really strongly that the first person to touch this baby should be one of the two people who created him, and it should be in an environment that is very intimate and relaxed"
Know what she said?
"I really believe that is how God intends for birth to be"
...
How COOL is that? So if we end up with a UC (which is my heart's desire, but because of some complications I have had, that might not happen) she will be fully on board and cool about it. I love that!
