How cool is that? I think only the mother of two preemies would be excited about this prospect <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> A guy who my dh occasionally kayaks with was telling dh about some research he's doing on the high rate of low birth weights in our city and especially in particular areas of the city. His theory is that airborne arsenic from factories is being blown toward certain areas based on the way the mountains lay, and then also the poorer neigborhoods tend to be in more industrial areas. Given that theory I should be less affected based on where I've lived all my life. Anyway, they were talking about our situation in particular and he's pretty sure that he has a sample of my placenta and that, based on birth date and birth weight, he should be able to find it and run some additional tests on it. I've never been more excited to find out if I'm toxic before (well, I guess I already know that, but maybe I'll find out some of the specifics <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">)

That is really interesting. Can they also test *you* to see if you have anything going on? I'm curious what the results will be.
