i used to be kinda iffy on circumsision but that was before i saw a very graphic video on it.

while seeing it i cringed and cried and threw up and thgoht to myself how could a truly loving parent really ever subject their child to such pain

i might get tomatos thrown at me but thats how i feel, from the first moments of life children should be held with care and love not be subjected to such torture.

i proudly wear the no circ on my sig. and will always.

He probably doesn't. Not many seem to, unfortunately. Maybe you could watch the video with him sometime in the near future. The more people who find out what actually happens during these unnecessary procedures, the less of them we'll have.

ditto here,
as to watching the video with him i dont think i can really watch it myself anymore, furthermore he is a very gentle and loving person himself(both of us being raised by parents who were homeopathic doctors who were against many traditonal medicines)

I know hes against abortion ( mostly the procedure itself i myself am VERY neutral on it
I hope he does see this and waives ever having to do it himself.

thank you for the welcomes btw

speaking of uncessary i really dont understand why peoiple would want to have these done to their children in the first place, religous (ie jewish ) traditions i understand(yhet still dont agree with really as well) but what are the other reasons people wish to have them done?

Sadly, he more than likely has had to perform one himself. Unless he were adimately against it in med school/residency and refused, he would've had to do at least one.
Did you know that there is a whole organization of doctors against circumcision? Its called DOC (doctors against circumcision, lol) based in Seattle. They have members all over the world and are active in stopping this unneccesary and harmful procedure.

I'm with you Supra

I dont know how any parent can look a newborn baby in the eyes and go "Oh You aren't good enough the way you came, we'll cosmetically alter you to suit our tastes, weather you like it or not, you can just deal with it"

Seems rather cold to me. I look at my DS and just bask in his perfection...his serious little face always brings a smile to mine....there's NO WAY I could do anything like that to him..ever...

He's my little dude. I'd no more cut his genitals than those of my daughter.

I dont understand people who do...

I would definitly take to your brother about this issue. Most doctors, especially those in the US believe circ is the best option or at least the parents choice. The more doctors we can get that say circ is wrong and unnecissary, the better. Show him the video even if you can't stand to watch it yourself, go to another room. I have watched the full video once and I will never watch it again, I just can't!

It is rather interesting that this is oddly similiar to a dead thread.... interesting indeed.

I think any parent who chooses to circ their child should watch this video before they are allowed to have it done. Sadly, many parents don't know what is involved with circ. They don't realize they have to rip the forskin away from the head and chop it off. Most doctors try and compare it to something like having your ears pierced or a paper cut. Or it is something that is never really though much about "if it's a boy, it has to be circumcised, either at the hospital or at the one week check-up." they never realized it doesn't have to be done at all.

Lastly I don't see why people who have the proper information on circ, would ever have it done.
