completely naturally ... in her mid-20's ... after two years of trying. Just thought I'd share because I know how many of us get frustrated and worried by how long it's taking us. This is a happy "someone I know is pregnant" story for a change! Of course, I'm hoping to be joining her soon.

That's wonderful! Congrats to your SIL.

This post reminded me of an aunt that I have who had trouble ttc. She got pregnant on her wedding night. When her ds was about 2 they started trying again and found that she actually had some infertility problems. Doc was surprised she actually got pregnant with her first. They tried everything they could for years and finally gave up. 7 years later she was surprised to find she was pregnant again. Just thought I'd share.

I have a friend who has never used birth control. She conceived her first DS shortly after they were first married. Then as he got older and older and nothing happened they all just assumed he would be an only child. When he was about 8 years old she was late and discovered that she was pregnant. She has since given birth to a little girl.

A lot of people had asked her about doing infertility treatments, etc. She has always said that she didn't want to do anything to augment/increase her chances. I don't know if it was some sort of spiritual belief or what.

I think in her case it was just busyness--moving, changing jobs, remodeling a house, selling a house--she was just at the point when she was going to find a new doctor, apparently. Actually I'm really glad she got pregnant before me because, gracious and loving as she is, I know it would have been hard for her to watch me get this thing to work my first try.
