And its driving everyone crazy!! He's 10 months old, and just started crawling 2 weeks ago. Ever since he's decided he doesnt need naps. He may sleep for 20 min or so once a day but thats it. We co sleep, and lately he's been thrashing and crying when we touch him (out of frustration). He wants us out of his way. We moved his crib into our bedroom and started putting him in there and he's been sleeping about 8 hours. But thats it! And he wakes up tired. He's tired and grumpy all day. Not only am I sad he doesnt want to sleep with us (for now, I'm hoping he'll come back when he's a bit older) but he's so fussy now. Any advice?

If anyone has any advice at all I'd love it. I'm really scared something is wrong because he just wont sleep. My friend said if I dont get him on a schedule (by forcing him to cry until he falls asleep the times I want him to be asleep) this will just go on forever.

When my ds started crawling, he started sleeping horribly, too. It was hard to get him to settle down for naps and bedtime--he was soo restless and would keep trying to get into a crawling position. His nightwakings were worse, too. It was harder to get him back to sleep each time he would wake.

Once he really mastered crawling, things went back to normal. I hope that's the case with you guys, too. It's so hard. I know I was afraid it wouldn't ever get better. But it did. Good luck!

DD used to sleep decently, not great, but okay. Now at 8 mos & crawling and standing she only naps 45 minutes twice a day and wakes 7-11 times per 9 hr night. I'm going insane. Reading No Cry Sleep Solution & Pantley says she needs to learn to soothe back to sleep without bfing constantly. She has a gentle removal method that I tried last night. It's okay, but more effort than falling back asleep after replacing breast in her mouth. : :

Have you tried having him nap in a carrier? At that age, the only way I could ever get DD to nap more than 30 minutes was to put her in a carrier and go on a long long walk.
