How about wearing a tight fitting cotton undershirt under your work clothes. That would keep the lemon/baking soda paste from bleaching your outer clothes, and it might mute the smell, soak up the sweat a bit.
I found that the best thing to help my perspiration smell is to NOT use deoderant, but to wash frequently and scrub with baking soda.

Bring a little spritz bottle of rubbing alcohol with you and spritz your pits when you feel you might be stinky. The alcohol will kill the bacteria that causes odor. You can put a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oils in it - they are both deodorizing essential oils and will also help with the stink issue.

Or for a super easy solution, go to either walmart, target, bath and body works etc... they sell small travel size bottles of scented body spray. The main ingredient is alcohol so it works the same way. Plus, they come in nice scents.
I keep one of these in the car to freshen up any time I feel stinky and the alcoholEO blend has been my deodorant for years:
http://www.bathandbodyworks.com/prod...tPage=category

I admit to not being totally up on all the pros and cons (please inform me if you can) but what about a deodorant stone? It works for my husband, doesn't stain his undershirts or darker shirts that he wears w/o an undershirt. It dosn't stop the sweating as it is not an antiperspirant but it does control odor (which is a change from before )

I second the scrubbing with baking soda. It kills the bacteria which causes the smell. I keep my underarms shaved well, scrub with baking soda and dry off like normal. Then I use virgin unrefined coconut oil on my underarms as deoderant. You can also add a little baking soda. I also use body spray (alcohol) to kill bacteria.

I do the same method (as the previous lady said) in the shower. Scrub with plenty of baking soda, rinse with water. Then I spray some apple cider vinegar (or you can use straight lemon or lime juice, but it's more expensive) on my armpits to kill bacteria and to act as astringent (keeps you dry) - then I get out of the shower and put coconut oil on, or a non-aluminum based commercial deodorant (the one I have has lichen and some herbs in it).

I need to get more coconut oil though. I like that method.

i scrubbed with baking soda today...amazing!!!!!! no coconut oil in the herbal shop so i got a natural deodorant...alcohol, tilia and salvia. don´t like the smell too much but it worked.

i´ll get the coconut oil next month...i have a feeling it´ll save me!

one question: this deodorant is in spray (not aerosol, normal spray), but i get a bit allergic with alcohol being sprayed, can´t use perfumes in spray...will it work the same if i spray it onto, maybe, a cotton ball and then wipe it on?

Yes - you can dab it on with a cotton ball. You can even buy those little squares of alcohol soaked material that they use to clean your arm before drawing blood. They work great and you can keep them in your purse. It doesn't matter how you get the alcohol on your pits, just make sure you cover your entire pit well and it will kill the bacteria that causes odor.
