I just experienced a uc homebirth with my daughter a week ago. We had planned a waterbirth at home, but she came so fast it ended up being me and dh as the baby arrived on the bathroom floor! I posted her birth story on the August ddc board if anyone's interested.

I just wanted to share that it was empowering and liberating to know and experience first hand how perfect our bodies are for birthing, and the power that simple instinct can play in such a life event. I admire anyone who plans a uc birth. Mine was unplanned, and somewhat scary at the time, but now that it's over, I love the way my daughter came into the world!

Wow, what a beautiful story and Stella is beautiful! Congratulations.

As I read your story I envisioned myself doing the same in our home. We planned a homebirth, discovered twins and then found out that FL law makes finding anyone to attend a twin birth out of hospital impossible. We finally found an OB who has experience and is an advocate for natural, vaginal birth. Still I'm not at peace with the idea of going to the hospital. I have repeating dreams of giving birth anywhere but there. In the end I'm carrying both babes as they nurse still attached to their fat placentas and all wrapped up in my very ragged 'lucky' shirt. Not sure if this is wishful thinking or some kind of premonition, but I've spent more time preparing for this scenario than packing a hospital bag.

Wonderful birth story- sorry it was scary at the time. Isn't it wonderful how our bodies were designed to do this? It wasn't until my second child that I experienced the "body pushing my baby out" sensation- involuntary pushing that I had no control over, just gave in and pushed with them and BOY DID IT FEEL GOOD! It was such an eye opener for me- my body knew what to do and would do it with or without me!!!!!

BTW- Your daughter is absolutely precious! Enjoy your babymoon!
