My very first barter

So my neighbor with more money than patience was headed to the grocery store this morning. Her son was a bit wound up and she looked really distressed about having to take him with her knowing that it would end in a lie-on-the-floor meltdown. I offered to take him for the morning.

She was thrilled. And then asked if I needed anything. Of course, some eggs, some milk, maybe some bananas and apples.

She leaves and the kids and I kicked around in the pool, ate popsicles, played with Lincoln logs, and generally had a great time while my neighbor picked up some groceries for me. I love it!

I should start a drop off daycare where moms pay me in groceries and laundry detergent to watch their kids while they shop in peace. My pantry would be bursting with good food.

That's awesome! drop off daycare in return for groceries and toiletries is a great idea~
I love hearing how people barter-and that is a great one! Personally, I would have much rather been at home than the grocery store too.
Was your neighbor just as happy with the exchange? If so, I'd start doing it for often-I'm sure your neighbor loves the little break!

Yes, she loved it! She is a big shopper, really enjoys the whole process of all things retail. I would rather do anything besides shop. I do it since I can watch prices and get the good deals, but it really drains me.

I think this could work out. I offered to take him again next week and she lit up.
