Hi and congrats to you!!!

One of my favorite dipes for nbs was loveybums fitted sherpa dipes and Loveybum wool/fleece covers! I loved these dipes because they were SO soft and stretchy and lasted til about 15lbs. The other item we used was a pull on ruskovilla wool cover...so soft and easy to care for. The other dipes we used probably won't help you because my dd was tiny as a nb. But if you can get your hands on some Muttaqin Baby fitteds or some pattynap basics these are also good choices!

Congratulations!

I love prefolds! My favorite NB fitteds are Preemie CuddleBuns. They are so soft and squishy!

I only use wool covers on my babes so I would suggest some soft little longies.

I like to only have to wash every 3 days or so, so this is what we had.

For my newborn I had three dozen preemie prefolds, two dozen infant prefolds, and 10 or so various newborn covers. I trifolded two preemie prefolds and layed in a newborn cover and occationally would use a trifolded infant prefold. My favorite cover was the prowrap newborn with the cord cut out. When I moved up to the small covers (at about 6 weeks) I started trifolding an infant prefold and laying it in the cover. I now have 3 dozen infant prefolds and 10 small covers. My favorite small covers are my thirsties and prowraps. I have a couple BSWW, but I usualy save those for when the others are in the wash. My AIOs and Fuzzi Bunz are sitting unused. I am loving my prefolds too much to bother with them.

Bummis Super Whisper Wraps! We love these....and wool, as well, for newborns!

Small Fuzzi Bunz worked within the first two weeks for my 8 pound 4 ounce baby. We also used the prefolds with a small BSWW and that worked well, too. Good luck! This is my second child, and the first child I cloth diapered for, and I really like it. Not hard at all, like many discouraging people told me.

I just bought some wool covers from Loveybums and they look perfect for a little newborn's bum. In the past I have also used ME Air-Flows, xs or small. This time around I am going to try some of the Bummi's covers and see if I like them.

Have fun shopping!

I think Thirsties are hands down the very best PUL newborn cover. They fit right from the start and fit for much longer than other nb covers. I never ever had a leak or blowout even with bf poo. I sold all my other covers, but kept the xs thirsties for next time!

I'm going to use all prefolds as well. I've got a few prefitteds for DH to use, since pins/snappis scare him on lil' babes!

For covers I'm using mostly knit wool, some wool snap covers and I've made some side-snapping fleece covers. I also have 3 PUL covers, but I got those for back up, not regular use. The PUL seems so uncomfortable compared to the soft wool! I'm not getting anything that's too small, since my babies are all huge to start with and put on weight really, really fast. I'm thinking of getting a couple pair of newborn longies for nights and when we're out and about, since it could still be kind of cool in the evenings here in the spring.

I'd reccommend Loveybums, Kiwi Pie, First Class Baby to name a few. I do virtually all of my diaper shopping on the trading post since I can get really great deals and if it doesn't work, I'm not out a lot of $$.
